The Natural Monument – Miocene Reef “Tašmajdan” was protected by the Decision on Placing under State Protection the site containing the Miocene reef at Tašmajdan in Belgrade—specifically the section above the western side of the stadium stands and laterally from the stadium entrance up to the constructed facility (water tunnel). This decision was passed in 1968 by the Assembly of the Municipality of Palilula in Belgrade, based on the Law on Nature Protection (“Official Gazette of SRS”, No. 24/65) and the Decree on the Establishment of the Republic Institute for Nature Protection (“Official Gazette of NRS”, No. 19/62). The Decision was adopted upon the proposal of the Republic Institute for Nature Protection and the Council for Education, Culture, and Physical Culture of Palilula Municipality.
